Women's Integral Retreat

with Dr Sarah Nicholson

and Tina Nance

Queen of the Night

Honeymoon Guesthouse, Ubud, Bali.

January 21 - 26, 2011

Experience deep, energising rest and nurturance,

engage with your consciousnesss of mind, body and spirit,

explore the path of womens sprituality...

through yoga, meditation,

journaling, dream work, dance

women's history and Integral theory

Yoga & Meditation: Stretch and strengthen each morning with our daily yoga practice. Lie down, let go, and come back to your self through deep rest meditation.

Journaling: Beginning with presence, in the body, work with journal writing techniques to open the gateway to creative expression, engagement with intention, and development of insight. Work with  extending your conscious awareness into the realm of sleep through recording, remembering, and naming dreams; and through dialogue with your dream self.

Alchemystical Yoga Dance: Focusing on dance, movement and meditation practices drawn from ancient and contemporary yogic and tantric principles of the body, connect with intimate sensory awareness to the vast openness, receptivity, surrender, and radiance that is the divine feminine aspect of ourself.

Womens Spiritual History & Integral Theory: Beginning with ancient  mythologies, learn about women who have walked the path before us. Join in story with the lineage of spiritual heroines who have embodied the divine in flesh as women. Understand women's spirituality in the context of Integral theory's evolutionary unfolding. What hurdles might we encounter when we work towards embodying the full archetype of the Self as woman? How might our specific relationship to the social and cultural world as women affect our personal development?

About the teachers:

Dr Sarah Nicholson's PhD  “In the footsteps of the heroine: the journey to Integral Feminism” followed the figure of woman as heroine from the ancient Archaic stage of human history to the burgeoning Integral stage; exploring the development of feminist spirituality from within the context of Integral theory and human evolutionary development.

Presently an associate of Sydney University's Department of Studies in Religion, she has been a Visiting Scholar at York University (Canada) and the Australian National University, and has been a faculty member of Integral Institute’s Women’s Integral Life Practice seminar.  She was an invited speaker on Integral Feminism at JFK University's Integral Theory Conference in both 2008 and 2010.

As well as publishing and presenting research both nationally and internationally, Sarah has been a published poet for over ten years and was awarded the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Fellowship for Literature in 2004. She has  studied and practiced extensively in the traditions of Zen and western Vipassana, and has taught contemplative writing practice and meditation.  She teaches at University of Western Sydney, is an Honorary Associate of Sydney University's Department of Studies in Religion, and is an editor of a forthcoming anthology on Integral perspectives on sex, gender and sexuality through SUNY Press.

What Participants Said:

“I have to say our retreat was just perfect. Fabulous teachers! Both worked well together, linking sessions and themes and so good that both were there for every session. The style was very feminine with flow, allowing, spaciousness and grace. I loved the gentle and logical progression of the journalling and the variety in the yoga and dance was sensational. Excellent design of the retreat.

It was a great opportunity to share 5 gentle and stimulating days with a diverse range of women. Thank you both Sarah and Tina for your professionalism, knowledge and generosity in sharing so much with big open hearts and grace. Loved it     Betty, Sydney.

"Thank you all for a wonderful experience! Back to reality and wasn't as bad as I thought,

due to being a whole new refreshed and fully recharged person!! " Nichola, Perth.
